Soft inside with crispy edges, these Air Fryer English Muffins are a quick and tasty addition to breakfast! Try topping them with melty butter or jam, or turn them into a breakfast sandwich or English muffin PB&J!

Why Air Fryer English Muffins are SO Good:
- Texture! English muffins toasted in an air fryer get super crisp and crunchy on the outside, but inside stay soft.
- It’s convenient. We use our air fryer all the time, and it’s very convenient to pop an English muffin in the air fryer. You honestly don’t even need a toaster anymore!
- No mess! If you have a toaster that gets crumbs all over your counter, you don’t have to worry about it with the air fryer.
Ingredients You Will Need

English muffins – that’s it! But have fun with it, there are seemingly endless varieties – plain, whole wheat, sourdough, cinnamon raisin, blueberry, etc.
Step-by-Step Directions

- Use a fork to open the English muffin into two halves.
- Place the English muffin halves on the bottom of the air fryer basket. Keep the cut side up and make sure they are not overlapping each other, to promote even toasting.
- Air fry at 350 degrees for 3-5 minutes.
- Remove air fryer English muffins and immediately top with any desired toppings. Enjoy!
Expert Tips & Variations
- Air Fryer English Muffin Topping Ideas: butter, olive oil and herbs, everything but the bagel seasoning, jam, chia jam, cream cheese, avocado, nut butters, smashed berries, banana slices, etc.
- English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich: while the english muffin is toasting in the air fryer, gather all your favorite breakfast sandwich ingredients to throw one together. Keep it classic with egg, cheese, and bacon/ ham/ sausage, or make my personal favorite with egg whites, crispy prosciutto, pesto, tomato slices, avocado, and balsamic glaze.
- English Muffin Pizzas: before toasting add 1-2 tablespoons of tomato sauce, 2-3 tablespoons of shredded mozzarella, and any desired toppings.

FAQs
Why doesn’t my English muffin look very golden brown?
If you have a larger air fryer, it may not look as golden brown if it’s further from the heating element. You can also lightly spray it with olive oil to encourage more browning and caramelizing.
Does the English muffin get too hard and crunchy?
Not at 350! I’ve seen other recipes call for toasting an air fryer English muffin at 400, but honestly I find that dries it out. If you’re nervous, start at just 2-3 minutes and gradually increase time if needed.

You need an air fryer! There are so many options on the market, but I have and use both an Instant Pot Vortex 6 quart air fryer and an 8 quart air fryer. If you’re only cooking for one or two people, I suggest this Instant Pot Vortex 2 qt Mini Air Fryer.
